This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work in the field of nursing education. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in clinical practice and teaching, with a strong ability to coordinate and conduct orientation programs.
- Coordinate and conduct in-service sessions, workshops, training courses, and CPR courses for nursing staff.
- Develop educational plans, modules, outlines, performance checklists, and evaluation tools that meet learning needs.
- Review existing policies and procedure guidelines and develop new ones that align with departmental goals and objectives.
- Observe staff nursing practices to assess compliance with policies and protocols, providing feedback to area HNs/CNIs.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to demonstrate professionalism and act as a role model in communication with nursing staff and colleagues.
The following are the key responsibilities for this role:
- Conduct needs assessments of orientees and nursing staff using various strategic tools.
- Assess progress of orientees/trainees and modify teaching strategies, content, or objectives accordingly.
- Develop competence-based programs to nursing staff to ensure retention of knowledge and skills.
- Participate in committees such as the Nursing Education Advisory Committee (NEAC) and Policy & Procedures (P&P) meetings, providing input.
- Evaluate the quality of educational modules, resources, and equipment to meet learning needs.
The successful candidate will be able to maintain flexibility in managing multiple roles and responsibilities, and promote a safe and healthy teaching and learning environment.
