Job Description:

This position involves leading and ensuring profitable operations of the distribution region in accordance with company policies and procedures.

The incumbent provides strategic direction to maintain an optimum level of overall system availability and effectiveness in supply of natural gas to consumers within the region.

The responsibilities include developing, updating, and implementing a distribution O&M plan for the region, leading initiatives to improve business viability through well-managed customer service and accurate billing.

The incumbent will engage with sub-regional or zonal heads, guide and agree on clear performance standards, delegate tasks effectively, and offer support to ensure timely completion of tasks.

The key areas of focus include system development, leak detection and corrosion control, customer service, sales, billing, HR, HSE compliance, and security operations.

The incumbent is responsible for maintaining records of CP tests, surveys, and inspections, ensuring that leak management plans are in place to discover and repair leaks on gas piping.

The role also involves providing inputs to regional office in preparation of system development and rehabilitation plans, ensuring that construction and installation activities are carried out by adequately trained and qualified staff or contractors.

The incumbent must ensure that specifications and engineering documents for materials, instruments, and equipment are safely maintained, and all materials received and used are in accordance with approved specifications.

The successful candidate will create awareness amongst regional employees to strictly adhere to procedures regarding discontinuation of supply to customers, review reports on zonal functions, and provide guidance for improvements.

The position requires budget preparation, consolidation of budgets submitted by zones, and guiding zones in setting annual targets to achieve required growth in the distribution network.
