Senior Public Relations Manager

This role involves leading the communications, PR, and social media efforts. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the tech industry, a strong track record of success in developing and executing communications strategies, and a passion for storytelling through thought leadership, product innovation stories, and customer testimonials.

They will manage an in-house team and work with agency partners to develop and implement the strategic communications plan. This will involve using owned and earned media channels to build awareness of the company's mission as a leading managed web hosting provider. They will shape public perception and build relationships with a cross-section of stakeholders (e.g. media, customers, WordPress ecosystem partners, employees, social media users, and developer communities), to align public-facing messaging to promote the organizational vision and company values.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive communications strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to generate positive media coverage and secure interviews and feature stories
  • Oversee the company's social media presence, including developing and implementing content strategies, managing community engagement, and monitoring analytics
  • Work collaboratively with Customer Success and Support teams to escalate, research and resolve customer review site queries that affect the company's reputation
  • Develop crisis communication plans and lead the organization's response during reputational crises or emergencies, providing timely and accurate information to internal and external stakeholders
  • Support the writing and editing of press releases, blog posts, interview responses, and other communications materials when required
  • Monitor media coverage to evaluate the effectiveness of public relations campaigns and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, customer success, executive leadership, etc.) to ensure consistent messaging is adopted across all communication channels
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, current events, and emerging issues that may impact the organization's reputation and recommend proactive strategies to address these
  • Mentor and coach members of the team to support learning and skills development
