Backend Developer Opportunity

As we continue to expand our platform, we're looking for a skilled Backend Developer to join our core development team. This role focuses on working within our legacy application to extract and organize data and build well-structured API endpoints using Node.js and AWS API Gateway.

You'll work independently with a high level of ownership, contributing to the design and implementation of backend solutions. This includes evaluating approaches to data access and API design, building robust endpoints for use by mobile clients, participating in code reviews and planning, and demonstrating progress and collaborating where needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate approaches to data access and API design

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong experience with Node.js and building RESTful APIs
  • Experience deploying APIs with AWS API Gateway, Lambda, and related services
  • Strong understanding of how to work within and around legacy applications
  • Familiarity with syncing data from file-based configs into structured databases
  • Strong knowledge of Git or other version control systems
  • Experience integrating and consuming 3rd-party APIs
  • Ability to analyze and improve backend workflows with a focus on practical, maintainable solutions
  • Solid debugging and performance optimization skills
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Nice to Have:
  • Experience building APIs that support mobile clients (iOS/Android)
  • Familiarity with ecommerce systems or merchant tools
  • CI/CD pipeline development or test automation
  • Exposure to legacy desktop applications (C# or Delphi)
  • Interest in AI-driven tooling or feature development
