Community Outreach Specialist Role

This position focuses on facilitating community engagement and outreach activities within the framework of a large-scale agricultural project in Balochistan, Pakistan. The role involves working closely with local communities, farmers' groups, and NGOs to promote sustainable water management practices and support the implementation of community-based projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing consultative community meetings, ensuring equal participation of all community members, and conducting needs assessments to identify areas of support. They will also work towards forming new farmer groups, such as Water User Associations, Farmers Field Schools, and Small & Medium Enterprises, and provide guidance on efficient water management affairs.

In addition, the Community Outreach Specialist will coordinate with NGOs to ensure documentation of project activities and technical proposals for communal schemes and commercial grants. They will also handle beneficiaries' complaints and disputes, maintain records of distributions of project inputs, and support awareness and visibility campaigns in project villages.

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have a strong educational background in agriculture or social sciences, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in community mobilization, dispute resolution, and organizing community trainings and awareness activities. Proficiency in English and Urdu is essential, along with the ability to work under pressure in a multicultural environment.
