Cleanroom Technician

We are seeking a Cleanroom Technician to join our team at the Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment in the laboratory.

• Cleaning and maintaining laboratory glassware, including test tubes, beakers, flasks, and pipettes
• Ensuring laboratory work surfaces and equipment are cleaned and maintained on a regular basis
• Managing laboratory supplies, including consumables, chemicals, and glassware, and notifying the supervisor when additional materials are needed
• Disposing of laboratory waste items, old glassware, and chemical waste in accordance with established protocols and safety recommendations
• Providing assistance to laboratory personnel with tasks such as kit preparation, sample transportation, and shipment setup as needed
• Maintaining accurate records of all glassware cleaning operations and inventory transactions
• Performing general housekeeping duties, including mopping floors, emptying garbage cans, and keeping the laboratory's common spaces tidy

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in a laboratory setting is an asset, but not required
• Knowledge of laboratory cleanliness and safety procedures
• Able to follow instructions and maintain normal operating procedures
• Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace
• Ability to perform tasks that require physical effort
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
