Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and flexible remote interpreter to facilitate communication between clients and individuals with limited English proficiency.

The ideal candidate will have excellent language skills, a strong understanding of interpretation principles, and the ability to work independently in a self-employed position.

This role requires the ability to interpret between English and Urdu/Punjabi languages over the phone or video calls. The interpreter will provide high-quality services to clients and customers with limited English Proficiency.

The successful candidate will be able to interpret for people using legal, health, and local government services. They will also check the non-English speakers' understanding after each sentence.

In addition, they will be responsible for conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting. They must provide an accurate, confidential, and impartial interpreting service at all times.

About You

  • You should be fluent in English and another language (Urdu or Punjabi).
  • You must have the right to work in the UK.
  • You should be aged 21 or over.
  • You should hold formal qualifications such as Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI), Community Interpreting, NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registered, or Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages.
