About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and versatile RDBMS Specialist to join our team at NorthBay Solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS), particularly PostgreSQL and AWS RDS, as well as a solid understanding of database migration processes and cloud-based database management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Management: Deploy, manage, and administer relational database systems such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, and AWS RDS.
  • Migration Expertise: Execute complex database migration projects, including source and target combinations such as PostgreSQL to Oracle, SQL Server to PostgreSQL, and Oracle to Snowflake.
  • Cloud Database Operations: Leverage expertise in public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or others to manage and optimize RDBMS deployments.
  • Performance Tuning: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance for both on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Development Support: Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
  • Data Engineering: Support ETL/ELT processes and other data engineering tasks using RDBMS and cloud platforms.
  • Governance: Ensure database security, backup, and recovery protocols comply with organizational standards and best practices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with cross-functional teams, providing technical insights and recommendations for database-related initiatives.
