Software Engineer

Overview:

Qualcomm is a technology innovator that pushes the boundaries of what's possible to enable next-generation experiences. As a software engineer, you will design, develop, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs that launch cutting-edge products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop embedded and cloud edge software using C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers and cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and develop software specifications.
  • Document software design, development, and testing processes for reference and future maintenance.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  2. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  3. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  4. 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 3-12 years of experience with embedded systems and preferably in server architecture.
  2. Knowledge and experience in driver development on one or more operating systems including RTOS or any embedded operating system.
  3. Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  4. Must be proficient in C.
  5. Good understanding of microprocessor, multiprocessor architecture.
  6. Good understanding of basic real-time/embedded programming concepts & RTOS concepts.

Work Environment:

Works under supervision. Decision-making may affect work beyond immediate work group. Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc.
