Water Management Support

The Indus River Basin in Pakistan faces significant threats due to climate change, posing a serious risk to the livelihoods of farmers and the agricultural sector.

The GCF funded project aims to support the government's efforts to improve water management and mitigate the impacts of climate change on the region's agriculture. This will involve working closely with local stakeholders to develop and implement effective water management strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting research on the impacts of climate change on water resources in the Indus River Basin;
  • Developing and implementing water management plans that take into account the needs of local communities and the agricultural sector;
  • Working with local stakeholders to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of water management strategies.
Requirements:
  • MSc or Ph.D. in hydrology, water resources management, or a related field;
  • Proven experience in water management and climate change adaptation;
  • Strong understanding of the social, economic, and environmental implications of water management decisions;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
