Remote Senior Shopify Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Shopify Developer to join our team on a contractual basis. This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while contributing to exciting e-commerce projects.

As a Senior Shopify Developer, you will be responsible for leading the development and customization of Shopify and Shopify Plus stores, ensuring they are visually appealing and user-friendly. You will design and implement custom Shopify themes, leveraging Shopify's Liquid templating language to create unique and engaging user experiences.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Develop and Customize Shopify Stores: Ensure that all Shopify stores are tailored to meet the specific needs of clients.
  • Theme Development: Design and implement custom Shopify themes to enhance user experience and engagement.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize website performance to ensure fast load times and seamless navigation.
  • Responsive Design: Ensure that all Shopify stores are mobile-first and responsive, providing a consistent experience across all devices.
  • Integration and Maintenance: Integrate third-party apps and APIs, and maintain the Shopify stores to ensure smooth operation and functionality.
  • Client Communication: Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide expert guidance on Shopify best practices and solutions.
  • Project Leadership: Scope, architect, and lead complex Shopify development projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality standards.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Shopify development, an excellent eye for design, and proven experience as a freelancer. Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with our team and clients.

In addition to technical skills, the following qualifications are required:
  • Experience: 5-7 years of experience in Shopify development, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful Shopify projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid. Experience with Shopify's API and app ecosystem is essential.
  • Design Skills: Excellent eye for design, with the ability to create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces.
  • Freelancing Experience: Proven track record as a freelancer, demonstrating the ability to manage projects independently and deliver high-quality results.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.


Preferred Qualifications include:
  • E-commerce Expertise: In-depth understanding of e-commerce principles and the ability to apply them to Shopify development.
  • Version Control: Experience with version control systems like Git.
  • Accessibility: Knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices.
