Cloud Database Expert

This role is responsible for leading database activities, including NoSQL expertise and collaboration with distributed teams.

  • Be the DB expert to reach out regarding NoSQL DBs.
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in the NoSQL space.
  • Develop working relationships with engineering leads across teams.
  • Review data models created by application teams.
  • Manage large-scale Cassandra and Scylla clusters.
  • Create automations to reduce toil.
  • Setup backup and restore mechanisms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve various issues with cluster related to nodes, table data, high load, connectivity issues from clients, etc.

Key Skills

  • 12+ years of experience in SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience managing large-scale Cassandra and Scylla clusters.
  • Experience with MySQL and/or Postgres databases.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and scripting using Terraform, Python or Bash.
  • Experience working with AWS, with AWS certification preferred.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic, Datadog, etc.
