Technical Lead for Web Applications

This role involves leading the design, development, and maintenance of high-performance web applications. As a Technical Lead, you will oversee the extension and implementation of our existing design system, ensuring its consistency and scalability across all our web applications.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Collaborate with designers, product managers, and UX researchers to design, develop, and deploy high-quality user interfaces using React and our established design system. Ensure code adherence to our style guide and coding standards.
  • System Maintenance: Extend and maintain our existing design system, contribute to its documentation, and explore opportunities for improvement.
  • Performance Enhancement: Analyze performance bottlenecks and implement strategies to improve site speed, application loading times, and resource utilization.
  • API Connectivity: Develop robust integrations with backend APIs using RESTful principles and AJAX techniques.
  • Data Consistency: Implement effective state management solutions to ensure data consistency and efficient updates in React applications.
  • Quality Assurance: Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and stability. Advocate for and implement automated testing strategies.
  • Leadership & Guidance: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with designers, backend engineers, product managers, and UX researchers to deliver high-quality products that meet business requirements and user needs.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Leverage cloud-based infrastructure (AWS or similar) for deployment and scaling of frontend applications. Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements.
  • Style Consistency: Incorporate new CSS options into our design system while maintaining consistency and best practices.
Necessary Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in frontend development, with significant experience in React.js.
  • Proven experience working with and extending design systems.
  • Deep understanding of JavaScript, including ES6+ features.
  • Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Context API, Zustand).
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and AJAX.
  • Experience with performance optimization techniques for web applications.
  • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress).
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git).
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms is a plus.
  • Experience with Storybook or similar component documentation tools is a plus.
