Expert Optometrist

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced academic to join our faculty as an expert in optometry and orthoptics.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to students, contributing to the planning of curriculum and assessments, and maintaining accurate records of student performance.

Main Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses and develop innovative pedagogical strategies to engage students in critical discourse and rational thinking.
• Supervise student projects, field trips, and placements, and set, mark, and assess work and examinations.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and update data in virtual learning environments and other software as required.
• Integrate Islamic and ethical values into teaching and participate in departmental and university committees as needed.
• Ensure teaching content and methods align with our mission and respond to issues relating to staff and student needs.
• Supervise student attendance and write or contribute to publications disseminating research findings using appropriate media.
• Carry out independent research, act as principal investigator, and supervise PhD students as needed.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Head of Department.
