Misinformation Analyst

Fact Checking Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Fact Checker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying misinformation, verifying claims, and conducting thorough research to substantiate or debunk stories.

About the Job: As a Fact Checker, you will play a crucial role in promoting truth and accuracy in the media and public discourse. You will work closely with our team to identify and analyze misinformation trends, verify claims, and produce high-quality fact-check articles.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor social media platforms, news outlets, and other sources to identify false news and misinformation trends.
• Utilize online tools, databases, and investigative techniques to verify claims and assess their credibility.
• Conduct on-the-ground research to substantiate or debunk stories.
• Write clear, engaging, and well-researched weekly fact-check articles.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of journalism experience; investigative reporting experience is preferred.
• Strong command over written and spoken English and Urdu; working knowledge of another regional language is a plus.
• Ability to conduct thorough research and produce compelling, unbiased and evidence-based articles.
• Deep understanding of Pakistan's political and cultural landscape.
• An undergraduate degree is required; a master's degree is preferred.
