As the Senior Director of Software/AI Engineering within the Consumer & Community Banking's Marketing Automation Platform function, you will oversee multiple technical areas, manage cross-functional activities, and collaborate across domains.

Job responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the software engineering strategy, focusing on AI technologies that support automated marketing processes.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align AI initiatives with business goals.
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-driven solutions, staying updated on emerging AI trends.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the engineering team, ensuring best practices are adopted.
  • Build and inspire a high-performing engineering team, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and oversee AI project delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Manage project risks and communicate effectively across teams.
  • Collaborate with product management, data science, and other departments on project requirements.
  • Present technical updates to stakeholders and represent the company at industry events.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification in Java and 10+ years of applied experience; 5+ years leading technical teams.
  • Experience in software engineering with a focus on AI, with hands-on skills in Python and frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Proven leadership in managing and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, data structures, and software architecture.
  • Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
  • Experience influencing complex organizations and delivering value at scale.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and DevOps practices.
  • Experience in hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control systems like Git.
  • Experience organizing developer events and workshops.
