Lead Product Designer - Developer-Centric Products


Responsibilities
  • Create a comprehensive product design strategy that aligns with business goals and developer needs.
  • Develop a holistic design vision for technical products, focusing on user experience (UX) and usability.
  • Establish design principles that resonate with technical user personas, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity.
  • Architect a scalable design system for internal teams and external developer users, promoting consistency and efficiency.
  • Design modular, flexible components adaptable across platforms and use cases, considering modern web technologies and developer workflows.
  • Implement design tokens and systematic approaches to color, typography, spacing, and interaction patterns, ensuring brand consistency and visual appeal.
  • Conduct in-depth research targeting developer experience (DevX), identifying pain points and areas for improvement.
  • Create detailed user personas and journey maps for developer tools, informing design decisions and strategies.
  • Develop data-driven design strategies to solve real developer pain points, leveraging analytics and feedback.
  • Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and developer relations teams, fostering cross-functional alignment and innovation.
  • Bridge design aesthetics and technical functionality, creating visually appealing and user-friendly experiences.
  • Foster a design practice emphasizing continuous learning, design thinking, and mentorship, supporting junior designers' growth and development.
  • Establish design review processes promoting constructive feedback and innovation, driving excellence in product design.
Requirements
  • 5-7 years of product design experience, with a focus on developer tools or technical products, and solid front-end development knowledge.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, and advanced proficiency in Figma and Adobe XD.
  • Portfolio showcasing work on complex design systems, developer-centric interfaces, and accessibility standards.
  • Strong understanding of modern web technologies, developer workflows, and design accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA compliance).
