Nutrition and Food Services Director

This is a result-oriented position that requires leadership and oversight for administrative, education management, financial and patient care aspects of the department. The role involves providing technical guidance and administrative direction over food planning, menu formulation and preparation, and serving of regular and therapeutic diets in inpatient and outpatient areas.
The key responsibilities include:
- Developing annual plans and budgets for the department, including manpower, capital, staffing and operational costs.
- Leading and directing the overall operations of multiple facilities, focusing on customer needs, government regulations and university policies.
- Coordinating and maintaining ISO 22000:2005 and JCIA accreditations, as well as facilitating external and internal audits on these standards.
- Ensuring nutritious, safe and quality production of food and timely delivery at assigned units while maintaining safety of all food production equipment.
- Enhancing staff competency level by implementing training programs and ensuring they meet changing organizational needs.
- Reviewing customer feedback and coordinating with relevant teams to meet customer expectations.
- Managing official catering and banquet needs of the institution.
- Establishing and monitoring performance standards among the departmental staff, ensuring consistent quality standards are met.
- Coordinating interdisciplinary training, service, research and committee projects, as well as providing support to hospital-based patient-focused clinical nutrition research programs.
- Establishing, maintaining and updating related policies and procedures necessary for effective systems.
- Monitoring department asset acquisition, transfer and disposal activities.
- Undertaking special projects, studies of specific problems and special investigations.
