Frontend Engineering Specialist

We seek an experienced Frontend Engineering Specialist to join our team. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality user interfaces using React and our established design system. As a Frontend Engineering Specialist, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that meet business requirements and user needs.

Main Responsibilities:
  • User Interface Development: Design and develop high-quality user interfaces using React and our established design system. Ensure code adherence to our style guide and coding standards.
  • Design System Extension: Extend and maintain our existing design system, contributing to its documentation and exploring opportunities for improvement.
  • Application Performance: Analyze and improve application performance by identifying and resolving bottlenecks, implementing strategies to enhance site speed, and optimizing resource utilization.
  • Backend Integration: Develop robust integrations with backend APIs using RESTful principles and AJAX techniques.
  • State Management: Implement effective state management solutions within React applications to ensure data consistency and efficient updates.
  • Code Review and Testing: Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and stability.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with designers, product managers, and UX researchers to deliver high-quality products that meet business requirements and user needs.
  • Cloud Deployment: Leverage cloud-based infrastructure (AWS or similar) for deployment and scaling of frontend applications.
  • CSS Best Practices: Maintain consistency and best practices in CSS, incorporating new options into our design system.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in frontend development, with significant experience in React.js.
  • Proven experience working with and extending design systems.
  • Deep understanding of JavaScript, including ES6+ features.
  • Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Context API, Zustand).
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and AJAX.
  • Experience with performance optimization techniques for web applications.
  • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress).
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git).
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms is a plus.
  • Experience with Storybook or similar component documentation tools is a plus.
