Senior Accountant Role Overview

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the company's financial records, including transactions, receipts, and payments. This role involves working closely with the team to create and analyze financial reports, process accounts payable and receivable, and manage invoices and tax payments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record daily financial transactions in Microsoft Dynamics GP, completing the posting process accurately.
  • Process invoice batches within the sales module, ensuring deferred invoicing is correctly handled in Microsoft Dynamics GP.
  • Prepare AR aging reports, assist in allowance of doubtful account provision preparation, and send monthly AR statements to customers, processing and following up on customer payments.
  • Coordinate and prepare customer invoices, reconciling monthly invoice activity to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Assist in regular reconciliation of AR-related accounts, such as work-in-progress, AR, and deferred revenue.
  • Support state sales tax compliance and other tax requirements.
  • Contribute to internal monthly financial statement preparation related to monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, adhering to deadlines and maintaining high accuracy standards.
  • Reconcile AP and AR sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
  • Update quarterly accruals and commitments.
  • Prepare journal entries for month-end close, analyzing invoices and coding them correctly before posting into Microsoft Dynamics GP.
  • Identify inter-company differences and communicate findings to the local accounting team.
  • Prepare intercompany journals (recharges etc.) as required by the local accounting team.
  • Generate smartview reports from Microsoft Dynamics GP for various reports.
  • Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and related reports on a monthly basis.
  • Support revenue analysis reports and trial balance variance analysis and commentary on a monthly basis.
  • Collaborate with the local accounting team on quarterly disclosure reporting and templates.
  • Maintain complete records of all financial transactions according to IFRS standards, meeting internal and external timelines.
  • Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness in accounting processes.
  • Undertake special projects and ad-hoc analysis as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Excel.
  • Understanding of IFRS standards and regulations.
  • Experience with smartview reporting and data analysis.
