About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Contracts Manager to join our team. As a key member of our contract management team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management of contracts, safeguarding the interests of our clients.
Main Responsibilities:
- Contract Analysis: Conduct thorough reviews and analysis of agreement documents to identify potential issues and risks, providing strategic recommendations for improvement.
- Report Preparation: Prepare detailed reports and analysis related to contractual matters, highlighting areas for improvement and providing actionable insights.
- Site Visits: Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the project team to review and respond to contractor correspondence, ensuring adherence to contractual and commercial requirements.
- Negotiation and Claims: Lead negotiation and claims meetings, summarizing outcomes and obtaining necessary approvals.
- Contractor Management: Verify that contractors submit all required documentation, including bank guarantees, warranties, and insurances, and ensure their acceptability to the client.
- Commercial Implications: Identify any contractual or commercial implications that may impact the client's interests, recommending appropriate responses.
- Variations and Claims: Monitor and process variations, change orders, and claims, advising on cost and schedule impacts.
- Claim Evaluation: Evaluate contractor claims in light of contractual obligations, providing strategic guidance on mitigation and resolution.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Hold an engineering qualification (B.E. Civil Engineering) from a recognized university, with a valid professional membership of PEC or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in managing complex contracts for high-rise building projects and infrastructure/utilities projects.
- Commercial Acumen: Thorough understanding of contract law and commercial practices.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with key contract areas, including indemnities, insurance, guarantees, warranties, and liquidated damages.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead issues and obtain resolutions.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage a high workload in a demanding environment.
- Critical Thinking: Demonstrated experience in contract management, risk management, and project management.
- Technical Skills: High-level problem-solving skills to resolve complex and sensitive issues, with proficiency in office software applications.
