Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Audit and Accounting professional to manage audit engagements, review financial reporting deliverables, oversee accounting projects, and provide technical guidance to junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and review audit, review, and compilation engagements under relevant standards.
  • Assist in planning and execution of external audits for clients across multiple industries, including real estate, medical, and e-commerce.
  • Review working papers, financial statements, and client deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance with Canadian GAAP (ASPE/IFRS) and financial reporting standards.
  • Manage a team of junior and intermediate accountants; assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching on technical guidance.
  • Liaise with clients to obtain necessary information, clarify queries, and deliver high-quality service.
  • Conduct quality reviews of bookkeeping, reconciliations, and year-end closing entries to ensure adherence to industry standards.
  • Provide accounting advisory on complex transactions and assist in implementing accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely completion of engagements while meeting quality and budget standards.
  • Collaborate with leadership to improve internal processes and enhance client satisfaction.
Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time management skills are also essential.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in auditing and accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP (ASPE/IFRS) and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
