Expert Truck Dispatcher

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced truck dispatcher to manage our logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of truck dispatching operations, with proven expertise in utilizing the DAT Freight & Analytics platform to secure profitable loads, manage freight logistics, and optimize fleet operations.

This role is crucial for maintaining efficient operations, maximizing revenue, and ensuring timely delivery of shipments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Load Management:
    • Utilize the DAT load board to identify and secure high-paying loads that match our equipment and driver availability.
    • Analyze freight rates and market trends to negotiate competitive rates with brokers and shippers.
  2. Driver Coordination:
    • Assign loads to drivers based on location, availability, and route preferences.
    • Monitor drivers' schedules and ensure compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
  3. Route Optimization:
    • Plan and optimize truck routes to reduce deadhead miles and fuel costs.
    • Communicate real-time updates to drivers regarding changes in routes, weather, or freight details.
  4. Customer and Broker Relations:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, shippers, and customers.
    • Perform credit checks on brokers and ensure all contracts meet standards.
  5. Documentation and Compliance:
    • Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, freight documents, and driver logs.
    • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
  6. Market Analysis:
    • Use DAT analytics to monitor freight demand and capacity trends in key markets.
    • Provide insights to management for strategic decision-making.
