The role of Information Security Engineer is crucial for fostering a culture of transparency and accountability within an organization.

This position involves overseeing compliance across security, privacy, legal, and data protection to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting the governance, risk management, and compliance operations to ensure strategic objectives are met and regulatory requirements are fulfilled.
  2. Assisting in strengthening the organization's risk management processes by collaborating with stakeholders, clients, partners, service providers, and vendors.
  3. Maintaining and executing data privacy initiatives to ensure compliance with relevant regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
  4. Designing and implementing information security controls, including policies, procedures, and documentation.
  5. Contributing to the establishment and management of a formal Information Security GRC and Privacy Program aligned with industry standards and compliance needs.
  6. Partnering with Legal, HR, and other departments to support an effective privacy program.
  7. Leading risk assessments and supporting efforts to achieve key certifications such as ISO 27001 and AICPA SOC 2 Type 2.
  8. Managing a security awareness training program to build a strong security culture within the organization.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Information Security Governance, Risk Management, Compliance, and Privacy.
  • In-depth knowledge of the tech industry's standards and regulations, preferably with SaaS products.
  • Experience in implementing regulatory and compliance frameworks such as SOC2 and ISO2700x.
  • Familiarity with Cloud Infrastructure technologies.
  • Understanding of global data protection laws, standards, and associated frameworks such as GDPR and CCPA.
  • Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping.
  • A business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality.
  • An analytical mind able to understand the complexities of procedures and regulations.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security+, CIPM, CIPP/E, PMP are desirable.
  • Expertise in using and integrating Splunk, ELK Stack, XDR, SIEM, and SOAR platforms.
