Senior Manager of Software Engineering Role

This is a challenging and impactful position where you will mentor and advise multiple technical teams, driving the advancement of financial technologies.

As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering, you will serve in a leadership role, providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams. You will anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm, leveraging your expertise to influence budget and technical considerations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers working on basic to moderately complex tasks.
  • Decision-Making: Be accountable for decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures.
  • Collaboration: Ensure successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
  • Issue Mitigation: Identify and mitigate issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary.
  • Strategic Input: Provide input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Create a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritize diverse representation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Software Engineering Expertise: Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Leadership Experience: Experience leading teams of technologists.
  • Guidance and Coaching: Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives.
  • Talent Development: Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the services industry and their IT systems.
  • Cloud Native Experience: Practical cloud native experience.
  • Technical Discipline: Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines.
Preferred Qualification
  • Code-Level Experience: Experience working at code level.
