Seeking an accomplished engineering leader to oversee the development of our managed Observability product offering. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding a mixed-skill team, facilitating communication, providing vision and priority, and empowering the team to create innovative solutions for customers.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned technical manager to join our team and contribute to simplifying the observability experience for DigitalOcean customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of back-end software engineers developing gRPC APIs and operating infrastructure for our observability solutions.
  • Develop efficient team methods to deliver value to customers.
  • Collaborate across the organization and interface with UI, UX, customer success, marketing, and engineering teams.
  • Define Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to measure and report on team success.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define roadmaps for building next-generation products.
  • Review and provide input on architectural system designs.
  • Partner with leads on feature delivery and defect resolution.
  • Career coaching including performance assessment and career development.

  • Experience building software used by thousands of users.
  • Awareness and authentic interest in learning areas such as Golang, gRPC principles, infrastructure operations, and large language models.
