Horticulture Specialist

Horticulture Leader Position

We are seeking a skilled Horticulture Manager to join our team in maintaining high standards of horticultural practices. As a leader, you will provide direction and motivation for staff, interns, and volunteers.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on manager who actively participates in daily horticultural tasks, such as working in exterior gardens and greenhouses.

Key responsibilities include managing plant health and soil nutrition strategies, implementing sustainable gardening practices, and integrated pest management in both outdoor and indoor gardens.

You will also establish and oversee a systematic plant records policy, including the direction of the plant collection policy and design aesthetic in coordination with our overall mission and strategies.

In addition, you will collaborate with the Grounds and Buildings Manager to coordinate heating and cooling of greenhouses, irrigation systems, and maintenance of horticultural equipment.

• Ability to organize and plan instructional classes in horticulture-related topics
• Leadership skills and experience in managing staff, interns, and volunteers
• Strong knowledge of horticultural practices, sustainable gardening, and integrated pest management
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
