Senior Software Engineer Job Description

A senior software engineer is responsible for developing server applications of various software platforms including writing Restful APIs to be consumed by client applications. This role ensures the functionality, security and performance of the server application meets the design specifications and is completely bug-free.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and programming using JSON, Web Services, XML, XSLT, PL/SQL in Unix and Windows environments. Experience working with Linux/UNIX environments and strong shell scripting skills are also required. Additionally, the candidate should have experience with PostgreSQL as DB Engine, deployed on AWS.

  • Job Summary:
  • Develop server applications of various software platforms.
  • Write Restful APIs to be consumed by client applications.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain server applications.
  • Ensure the functionality, security and performance of the server application meets the design specifications.
  • Mentor junior engineers and build team strength through training.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve project goals.
Requirements:
  • BS degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or similar relevant field.
  • Minimum 3-7 years of related experience in the professional industry.
  • Experience working with tools like Git, Maven, JFrog, UDeploy.
  • Strong knowledge of MicroServices.
