Rural Surgery Leadership Program

This program aims to develop community surgeons with proficiency in emergency surgical procedures, as defined by the Disease Control Priorities, volume 3 (DCP3). The training will focus on skills related to the development of surgical systems in resource-constrained environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the care of a wide variety of essential and emergency surgical problems.
  • Provide assistance in OR/SDC sessions with supervising faculty.
  • Engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as assigned.
  • Develop leadership skills pertaining to healthcare systems, delivery, financing, and community engagement.
