Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communication Specialist to promote our work in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and executing a communications strategy and activities to promote effective communications with external and internal audiences focused on our role and impact in the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop Strategies: Plan, design, and execute a comprehensive communications strategy to enhance stakeholder engagement and build strong relationships with key industry, government, development, and civil society groups.
  2. Positioning: Position our Country Manager and project team leads as thought leaders in the private sector development space, leveraging their expertise to drive business growth and development.
  3. Create Content: Engage with subject matter experts to create high-quality, engaging content for various channels, including website, LinkedIn, Facebook, and op-ed articles in local and international media outlets.
  4. Risk Management: Collaborate with project teams and clients to identify and mitigate reputational risks, ensuring seamless stakeholder engagement and communication.
  5. Media Relations: Foster strong relationships with key journalists and secure press coverage for our initiatives in local and international media.
Requirements:
  1. Outstanding Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to adapt to diverse audiences and contexts.
  2. Strong Understanding of Communications Approaches: In-depth knowledge of communications strategies, tools, and methodologies, with experience in developing and implementing effective communications plans.
  3. Social Media Expertise: Strong working knowledge of social media platforms, with a proven track record of creating engaging content and growing online communities.
  4. Cultural Competence: Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment, building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders and partners.
  5. Business Acumen: Good understanding of business development principles and practices, with experience in supporting business growth and development through effective communications.
  6. Education/Experience: A Master's degree (or equivalent) in communications, political science, international relations, public relations/affairs, marketing, journalism, or any other related field, plus a minimum of two years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
