Database Systems Specialist

Job Overview

The Database Administrator Team is responsible for end-to-end database planning, installation, maintenance, and operations. The focus is on deploying new technologies, ensuring database availability 24/7, fault-free operation, and keeping systems up to date.

This role reports directly to the Manager DB Services and has no direct reports but collaborates with an extended team of 6 members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain database servers
  • Develop processes for optimizing database security
  • Set and maintain database standards
  • Performance tuning of database systems
  • Install, upgrade, and manage database applications
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors
Requirements

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 3-6 years of experience in database administration or related fields are required. Experience with Linux, HP-UX, Solaris, and Windows Server is necessary. Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive attitude are essential.
