The role of a Medical Imaging Technician is to perform radiology procedures according to physician prescriptions, ensuring safety measures for patients and equipment. Guiding junior colleagues in procedure performance and equipment handling is also an essential aspect of this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures as per departmental standards and processes.
  • Position medical equipment at proper distances and angles for clear images.
  • Select cassettes according to procedures.
  • Observe safety measures during diagnostic procedures.
  • Log procedures performed.
  • Determine voltage, current, and exposure time for each procedure.
  • Process images and check quality.
  • Perform procedures from different angles as prescribed.
  • Maintain equipment by cleaning and making minor adjustments.
  • Report faults or breakdowns to supervisors.
  • Assist in training on-the-job trainees and new technicians.
  • Perform portable procedures in patient care areas.
  • Wear radiation monitoring devices.
  • Check medical equipment periodically.
  • Work in shifts.
  • Schedule patients for procedures.
  • Guide and train junior colleagues/trainees.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
  • Intermediate Science or B.Sc. preferred.
  • Certified Radiography course from a recognized institute.
  • 3-4 years related work experience performing routine standard procedures.
  • Good working knowledge of diagnostic procedures and equipment operation.
  • Judging film quality, patient positioning, and general record keeping.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills in English and Urdu.
