Database Administrator - Oracle 19c

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator with at least 8 years of experience in managing Oracle databases, specifically in the areas of implementation, upgrade, and consolidation of Oracle 19c on Exadata and Oracle Cloud Platform.

  • Hands-on experience with Oracle 19c implementations, upgrades, conversions, and consolidation projects
  • Excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle 19c and technical database concepts such as physical data modeling, PDB/CDB, resource management, data replication, and backup/recovery techniques

A minimum of three years of working knowledge of Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM/Grid Control), Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM) and Cluster File System, Recovery Manager (RMAN), Data Guard, and Database Security is required. The ideal candidate should be able to drive product issues to resolution, register all steps in documents following ITIL processes, and provide L3 support.

In addition to their technical expertise, the successful candidate will have good organizational and communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and work effectively in a high-pressure environment. Experience in supporting both development and production database environments is essential.

The role involves performing analysis and end-to-end execution from roadmap to implementation of database consolidations, migrations, conversions, and upgrades. They will also lead analysis of business and application requirements to translate into new or modified database or data capabilities, and consult for optimal design of DB environments, analyzing complex distributed production deployments, and making recommendations to optimize performance.

Key responsibilities include responding to and resolving database access and performance issues, crash/recovery of databases, database performance analysis and developing tuning approach, monitoring database system details within the database, implementing efficiency improvements, documenting bad SQL queries, and supporting application teams for fine-tuning. The candidate will also participate in change management processes, prepare backup and restore strategies, implement disaster recovery plans, and consult with developers in optimizing SQL queries and supporting application development teams during development, testing, pre-production, and post-production phases.
