Job Overview

This role involves overseeing production operations, ensuring a smooth-running plant and fostering a culture of efficiency. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment and possess problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities
  1. Gain insights into current production issues and risks by reading management, maintenance, and section logbooks of the production department.
  2. Regularly visit each section to monitor staff work and operations, ensuring optimal functioning.
  3. Maintain comprehensive knowledge about all activities related to milk powder production, staying up-to-date with the latest processes.
  4. Ensure the optimal functioning of each section within the production department, fostering a culture of efficiency.
  5. Train shift engineers and provide guidance to guarantee seamless plant operation.
  6. Prepare activity reports of the plant and discuss them with the Production Manager, identifying areas for improvement.
  7. Assume responsibilities in the absence of the Production Manager, coordinating tasks effectively.
  8. Monitor the work of shift engineers and staff, providing guidance during abnormal situations and minimizing losses.
  9. Develop practical and theoretical knowledge of equipment operation in various process areas, enhancing overall performance.
  10. Closely collaborate with other departments to maximize quality and productivity, driving business success.
  11. Address abnormalities and non-conformities, implementing corrective and preventive measures to ensure continuous improvement.
  12. Provide guidance and practical solutions to minimize losses, promoting a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  13. Communicate processing parameters and working procedures to staff, ensuring strict adherence to SOPs.
  14. Verify and sign dispatch notes for cream, butter, and milk powder in the absence of the Production Manager, maintaining accountability.
  15. Maintain and educate staff on personal and plant hygiene, ensuring compliance with instructions and maintaining a clean environment.
  16. Document shift activities in the management logbook and relay new instructions from higher management, facilitating effective communication.
  17. Report process abnormalities immediately, taking necessary actions to prevent recurrence and maintain consistency.
  18. Coordinate maintenance activities with the engineering department, ensuring seamless collaboration.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Manage daily production of Butter, Desi Ghee, Milk Powder, and Cream, adhering to set standards.
  • Ensure compliance with standards such as HALAL, ISO, HACCP, Environment, URSA, Punjab Food Authority, and PSQCA, upholding excellence in quality and safety.
