About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Freight Coordinator Specialist. This office-based position involves coordinating logistics by communicating with truck drivers and brokers through calls and emails. The primary responsibilities of this role include negotiating rates, securing loads, and ensuring smooth operations during nighttime hours.
Main Responsibilities:
- Negotiate Rates: Contact truck drivers to determine their rates per mile and negotiate terms that benefit both parties.
- Load Management: Use CRM systems to find and assign loads to truck drivers, ensuring efficient scheduling during the night shift.
- Bargaining: Negotiate with brokers and truck drivers to secure the best possible deals and conditions.
- Communication: Act as the primary contact between truck drivers and brokers during the night, managing all communications over the phone.
- Documentation: Accurately record all communications, rate agreements, and load assignments within CRM and tracking systems.
- Problem-Solving: Handle any logistical challenges that arise during the night shift, ensuring that deliveries stay on schedule.
Requirements:
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills are essential for this role.
- Experience with Logistics: Previous experience in transportation, logistics, or similar roles is highly valued.
- Multitasking: Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced office environment.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other office software is necessary for this position.
Working Conditions:
This role requires working exclusively during the night shift. The ideal candidate will be able to manage high-pressure situations with professionalism and calmness during nighttime hours.
