Corporate Development Leader

Banyan Software is a leading consolidator of enterprise software businesses, providing a permanent home for successful companies and their customers. Our mission is to acquire, build, and grow great software businesses globally in niche vertical markets.
Job Profile:This role offers an opportunity to be a key contributor in a rapidly growing software consolidator. You will help lead a team of M&A Associates/Analysts and be responsible for scaling processes around due-diligence and M&A execution. The selected candidate will work directly with associates, directors, and VPs across the globe in a high-energy environment.
Responsibilities:- M&A Process Management: Lead all aspects of the merger and acquisition process from start to finish, creating data-driven insights and recommendations.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze confidential financial & non-financial information on potential acquisitions and create investment summaries for Banyan's management team and board.
- Quality of Earnings Reporting: Develop and standardize high-quality quality of earnings reports (QOE) to identify key issues and deal risks/opportunities.
- Due Diligence: Participate in due diligence for potential Banyan acquisitions, analyzing operational aspects of businesses and performing complex analyses.
- Team Leadership: Oversight and coaching of a rapidly growing team of M&A Analysts and Associates.
- Financial Modeling: Create financial models to evaluate the financial impact of proposed deals, including analyzing scenarios and sensitivities.
- Process Optimization: Collaborate with senior leadership to define streamlined processes, identify laggard processes, and implement performance-boosting solutions.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in M&A / Corporate development, preferably in corporate finance or a boutique advisory firm.
- Experience reviewing and building QOE reports, generating compelling stories from transactional data.
- Strong numerical, financial, and modelling skills, with sound commercial judgment and creative problem-solving ability.
- Highly motivated, with a strong interest in private equity, tech entrepreneurship, and finance.
- A minimum reputable bachelor's degree in finance, with professional designations (ACA/ACCA, CFA) being an asset.
- Financial literacy and presentation skills for executive team/board-level audiences.
- Leadership experience, helping young professionals ramp up quickly and review their outputs.
- Advanced English written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective communicator, confident leader with strong people management skills and a genuine passion for making things happen.
