Job Title: Senior Web Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced web developer to join our development team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in web application development using PHP and CodeIgniter framework, along with a good understanding of front-end technologies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs that are efficient, scalable, and user-friendly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Application Development:
  1. Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs and database design using the CodeIgniter framework and PHP.
  2. Collaborate with front-end developers for API integration.
  3. Develop efficient, reusable, and well-documented code.
Database Management:
  1. Design and optimize database schemas.
  2. Write complex SQL queries and ensure database performance.
  3. Integrate databases with web applications, ensuring data consistency and integrity.
API Integration:
  1. Integrate third-party APIs and services to enhance application functionality.
  2. Develop custom APIs to facilitate data exchange between different systems.
Code Optimization:
  1. Identify and fix performance bottlenecks in the application.
  2. Optimize code for speed and scalability.
Bug Fixing and Troubleshooting:
  1. Identify and resolve bugs and issues in a timely manner.
  2. Conduct thorough testing and debugging of applications.
Version Control:
  1. Utilize version control systems, such as Git, for source code management and collaboration.
Security and Best Practices:
  1. Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and prevent vulnerabilities.
  2. Follow coding standards and best practices to maintain high-quality code.
Documentation:
  1. Document code, processes, and project specifications for future reference.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a PHP developer with a strong emphasis on the CodeIgniter framework.
  • Experience with database systems like MySQL, including database design and optimization.
  • Familiarity with RESTful API development and integration.
  • Strong understanding of version control systems, especially Git.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with other PHP frameworks and CMS platforms is a plus.
