E-Commerce Architect

">About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced E-commerce Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of e-commerce platforms and technologies, as well as excellent technical skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop innovative e-commerce solutions using expertise in digital commerce and technical architecture.
  • Analyze existing systems and propose improvements for enhanced performance.
  • Streamline services from third-party systems to provide faster frontend experiences while ensuring data integrity.
  • Apply software design standards to deliver technical leadership and value on the e-commerce platform.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects to define project visions based on business requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of frameworks, tools, and accelerators that enhance the skills of technology team members and the organization.
  • Participate in pre-sales activities, providing solutions and driving technical discussions with clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide development estimates for large feature sets to support project planning.
  • Offer subject-matter expertise to support project delivery teams and external development teams.
  • Work with Technical Architects/Solution Architects to establish strategic roadmaps, principles, and reference architectures.
  • Maintain and monitor technical architecture structures, ensuring compliance with business capabilities, applications, and data.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 12+ years of experience in application engineering and technology.
  • Expertise in enterprise-level technical solutions within the retail and e-commerce landscape is essential.
  • 10+ years of work experience as a senior technology engineer and/or architect is required.
  • Relevant experience in leading e-commerce systems such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Kibo Commerce, Shopify, Commercetools, Sitecore Commerce, Episerver Commerce, etc.
  • Technology agnosticism and experience working on different applications is necessary.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce subsystems, business models (B2B/B2C/D2D), and omnichannel Order Management Systems.
  • Hands-on experience with RESTful web services, Ajax-driven client applications, and Advanced JavaScript architectures is crucial.
  • Strong background in World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), accessibility guidelines, model view controller (MVC), agile development, and relevant tools.
  • Expertise in Pipelines, JavaScript controllers, ISML templates, and real-time data exchange using web services.
  • Experience integrating custom services into SFCC, payment, tax, and operation management suite (OMS) integrations, and understanding of Demandware limitations.
  • Proficient in Demandware foundational concepts including SiteGenesis, UX Studio, content assets or slots, and Demandware Catalog.
