Job Role

The Power Plant Maintenance Assistant provides technical services assistance to maintenance supervisors engineers for the smooth effective & efficient operations of functional Co-generation Power Plants based on Gas & Diesel fuelled larger ratings Generators with heat recovery systems.

  • Assists seniors in carrying out effective Maintenance of Power Plant & Waste heat recovery plant equipment
  • Assists plant maintenance staff in receiving consumables like diesel oil lube oil
  • Participates in maintenance work activities during breakdowns emergencies shutdowns and when required by supervisors Reduces downtime of the plant and its associated equipment
  • Performs Operational duties when needed assists shift supervisors chiller operators boiler attendants in shifts as assigned by plant Engineers
  • Works under approved safety standards of Power Plants using appropriate safety equipment
  • Assists in preparing Inventory of spare parts consumables updating inventory for safe stock of plant equipment
  • Follows log-out tag-out procedures work permit system
  • Maintains monitoring of plant performance equipment conditions system parameters
  • Responsible for good housekeeping of Power Plant & waste heat recovery plant
  • Keeeps plant keys plant manual logbooks in safe custody
  • Maintains Power plant tools in safe working condition
  • Carries out any other job as assigned by superior
Requirements
  • Education: Minimum Diploma of Associate Engineer (3 years) in Mechanical/Electrical/Power Technology B-Tech preferred
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years experience in power plant maintenance at least 4 years in a technical assistant/maintenance/mechanic technician role
  • Technical Knowledge: Sound knowledge of Gas and Diesel Engine Generators auxiliaries cooling towers HT LT water Systems heat recovery systems
  • Computer Literate
  • Familiarity with power generation systems WHR boilers generators control systems
  • Clear reporting of plant status abnormalities to supervisors
  • Effective communication with technical teams during shift handovers
  • Maintaining accurate logs records daily operations
  • Working effectively in rotating shift environments
  • Accurate monitoring of plant parameters
