Logistics Assistant Role

The Logistics Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering logistical services and support, ensuring alignment with international policies and procedures, as well as donor and host country regulations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Office Management:
    • Focal point for all daily office activities and follow-up
    • Main office and field offices monthly payments coordination
    • Responsible for office stock inventory management
    • Regular field visits to update stock sheets and coordinate with procurement staff on supply acquisition and delivery
  • Fleet Management:
    • Assists with weekly movement plans and driver assignments
    • Compiles field schedules on a weekly basis and maintains direct contact with area focal points
  • Security:
    • Assists the security manager in monitoring situations and informing staff accordingly
    • Updates security documents for the mission as required
  • Logistics Reports:
    • Assists in preparing logistics reports as tasked by the manager
  • Fraud Prevention:
    • Committed to fraud prevention, detection, reporting, and risk reduction according to policies, donor rules, and local laws and regulations
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport Management, or related field
  • 6 months of experience in Procurement and/or Logistics
  • Good interpersonal and team skills
  • Commitment to and understanding of aims, values, and principles
  • MS Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to integrate and work well within a multi-ethnic and multicultural team
  • Ability to work in harsh conditions, often in remote areas
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Relevant qualifications or training courses

This role requires a professional who can effectively manage office activities, fleet, security, and logistics reports while preventing fraud. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, 6 months of experience in procurement and/or logistics, and good communication skills.

The Logistics Assistant will be responsible for maintaining relationships with area focal points, updating stock sheets, and coordinating with procurement staff. They should also be able to prepare logistics reports and maintain accurate records.

A strong commitment to ethics, integrity, and respect for diversity is essential for this role. The candidate should be fluent in English and possess MS Office skills. Relevant training courses and certifications are a plus.
