Tax Compliance Specialist

As a Tax Compliance Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to tax regulations and optimizing our tax strategies to minimize liabilities. You will collaborate closely with our finance team and external advisors to manage all aspects of tax planning, reporting, and compliance.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting, tax law, and financial analysis, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant tax laws and deadlines.
  2. Managing and processing Form 165, including the accurate preparation of annexures as required.
  3. Generating and submitting quarterly tax and sales reports, including VAT, GST, or other applicable returns.
  4. Reconciling financial data to ensure tax reports are accurate and discrepancies are resolved efficiently.
  5. Monitoring and updating tax policies, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  6. Liaising with tax authorities and handling tax audits or queries.
  7. Assisting in the development and implementation of tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position.
  8. Collaborating with internal teams (e.g., accounting, finance) to ensure proper alignment and reporting of tax-related information.
  9. Maintaining up-to-date records of tax filings and ensuring timely submissions of all required documents.
  10. Providing support in analyzing and interpreting new tax regulations and their impact on the company.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, CA (inter), or have only done articleship, ACCA, ICMA or advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in a corporate environment or manufacturing firm. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance requirements. Proficiency in tax software and financial management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax laws and regulations. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
