Job Title: Principal Data Engineer

Overview:

This position requires a highly experienced and skilled Principal Data Engineer to lead the development of complex data management systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure high-quality data delivery. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data engineering, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex data management systems, incorporating multiple data sources into data warehouses, cloud data lakes, data science platforms, or other accessible structures.
  • Collaborate with data architecture, enterprise integration, data governance, and compliance teams to guarantee smooth data flow and adherence to industry standards.
  • Analyze business processes to identify requirements, specifications, and system solution designs, working closely with engineering team members to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for data management, adhering to architectural standards, security, and compliance, while promoting a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
  • Expert knowledge of relational databases, data warehouses, and SQL skills, with a focus on data integration, data pipeline, and data delivery, and implementing data reliability, efficiency, and quality improvements.
  • Maintain and optimize data pipelines, creating, updating, and monitoring workloads from development to production, while fostering a collaborative environment within the Data Engineering Team.

About the Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in science, statistics, engineering, business administration, or similar field of study.
  • At least 14 years of experience building and scaling data platforms.
  • Extensive expertise in data replication and data integration tools (e.g., Informatica, Attunity, AWS DMS).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Experience in software delivery through continuous integration (e.g., git, bitbucket, Jenkins).
