Automation Project Lead

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Project Lead to oversee our automation projects from initiation to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical or mechatronics engineering, with hands-on experience in designing and implementing DCS and PLC systems.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing project requirements and studying specifications to ensure successful project execution. This includes designing and implementing clean sheet designs of DCS and/or PLC/HMI systems, programming and configuring DCS and PLC systems from at least two manufacturers, leading project engineers and distributing workload effectively, providing technical guidance to project teams on PLC/DCS projects, designing control panels (mechanical and electrical) to meet project requirements, verifying project activities to ensure accuracy and health, communicating project status to the project manager as required, maintaining QMS and ensuring its effective implementation, conducting internal testing and design review of DCS and PLC systems, approving all design documents and drawings thoroughly, maintaining communication hierarchy among project teams according to the project manager's preferences, familiarizing yourself with procurement and material processes, updating and maintaining project plans and schedules, leading Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and guiding engineers in setting up FAT, traveling to project sites when necessary, and assisting in timely and accurate invoicing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish project requirements and study specifications to ensure successful project execution.
  • Design and implement clean sheet designs of DCS and/or PLC/HMI systems.
  • Program and configure DCS and PLC systems from at least two manufacturers.
  • Lead project engineers and distribute workload effectively.
  • Provide technical guidance to project teams on PLC/DCS projects.
  • Design control panels (mechanical and electrical) to meet project requirements.
  • Verify project activities to ensure accuracy and health.
  • Communicate project status to the project manager as required.
  • Maintain QMS and ensure its effective implementation.

  • Familiarize yourself with procurement and material processes.
  • Update and maintain project plans and schedules.

  • Travel to project sites when necessary.
  • Assist in timely and accurate invoicing.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering is mandatory.
  • Hands-on working experience with instruments, multiple DCS systems, PLCs, and HMI systems is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement and material processes is required.
