Responsibilities

The Senior Medical Officer, Family Medicine will be responsible for:

  • Performing thorough assessments and reassessments of all patients
  • Forming accurate diagnoses based on lab results and recommending relevant treatment
  • Calculating correct medication dosages and providing prescriptions
  • Making regular follow-up appointments with patients or as requested
  • Evaluating patient conditions and making changes to treatment plans accordingly
  • Referring patients to other health facilities as needed
  • Staying up-to-date with infection control practices and following proper protocols
  • Supporting departmental teaching activities for postgraduate students

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • A MBBS degree from a recognized university
  • At least six years of experience in related fields or three years with additional diploma or MCPS
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to make decisions quickly and effectively
  • Capacity to counsel patients and their families
  • Good written communication skills
