The IT Senior Director is responsible for overseeing the IT department, ensuring smooth operation of all technical aspects of the organization. This includes project management, team coordination, security compliance, technological decision-making, and maintaining overall integrity of codebases, securing business-critical technical information, driving process modernization, and streamlining operations through strategic use of software and technology.
This role involves leading and managing the IT team consisting of developers, providing governance and technical oversight. The successful candidate will oversee software development of the website (LMS) and apps, ensuring high-quality and secure coding practices.
The IT Senior Director will serve as the main point of contact for source code management, gathering IT requirements, new feature requests, and addressing customer tech issues. Collaboration across departments to identify areas for technological advancement and support business growth is essential in this role.
A key responsibility of this position is assigning tasks to developers and tracking project progress using task tracking tools like ClickUp. Performance targets for the IT department will be set, and KPIs of all developers will be evaluated to ensure continuous improvement and accountability.
Safety and security of all IT operations are paramount, and the successful candidate must ensure that all comply with security and confidentiality policies. Management of Cloud accounts, deployments, server configurations, and database access is also a critical aspect of this role.
The ideal candidate will report project updates to the organization's management. Additionally, they will maintain overall codebases and business-critical technical information, ensuring consistency, security, and accessibility.
Knowledge sharing and training within the IT team will be facilitated by the successful candidate. To excel in this role, you should have at least 8+ years of experience in IT leadership or senior development roles, with proven experience managing software teams and technical projects.
Your expertise should include strong command over web and mobile application development, code architecture, and deployment best practices. Leadership skills, such as leading, mentoring, and evaluating developers, setting team goals, and managing KPIs, are also necessary.
Proficiency in Git and GitHub workflows, including branching strategies and code review processes, is required. A deep understanding of security protocols, data privacy, and confidentiality in IT systems is also expected.
You should be able to align IT strategy with business goals, drive innovation, and implement process improvements. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, along with a proactive ownership-driven mindset, are highly valued in this role.
