Job Title:

We are seeking a skilled professional to drive our analytical capabilities, leveraging expertise in Predictive Analytics to inform business decisions.

About the Role
  • This is a pivotal position that requires an expert in Predictive Analytics to harness new analytic and statistical tools, generating insights into customer behavior and driving evidence-based resource allocation.
  • The successful candidate will drive analytical insight into department-wide problems, providing complex recommendations rigorously tested.
  • A key responsibility of this role is to provide advice, direction, and support to enhance analytical capability in algorithm development to predict taxpayer outcomes.
  • Pioneering a significant enhancement of the FBR's analytical capability, this role will sustainably inform decision-making and compliance strategy using data-driven analytics.
  • Mentorship and skill development of predictive modeling/data science skills within the team are essential components of this role.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Critical analysis and constructive alternatives are required to drive significant improvements in business processes.
  • Support for innovation and improvement of risk management, CRM, and cost modeling is necessary to enhance end-to-end processes.
  • Ability to analyze large and complex datasets is crucial.
  • Development of algorithms categorized as Artificial Intelligence, Predictive Analytics, Data Mining, or Machine Learning is a key requirement.
  • Familiarity with commercially available analytical IT tools such as SAS, R, or Python is essential.
  • Hands-on experience of credit/risk and/or behavioral data analytics in a large organization is desired.
  • Risk and analysis projects require balancing cost, quality, and timing variables for successful delivery.
  • Significant experience, ideally 5 years +, in a post with project lead responsibility for operational applications of propensity/risk analysis strategies is preferred.
  • A minimum of a 4-year Bachelor's degree or Master's in a numerate discipline from a recognized local or international university is required.
  • Strong quantitative and technical skills are necessary.
  • Mentorship and development of teams in a complex analytical environment are essential.
  • Effective communication with senior business users through clear and professional written communication is crucial.
  • An appreciation of Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Mapreduce is beneficial.
Desired Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of performance indicators used to monitor risk portfolio performance is advantageous.
  • Experience of segmentation and marketing analytics approaches is desirable.
  • Familiarity with BI tools and techniques such as Cognos Business Objects and Tableau is beneficial.
  • A good understanding of complex and intellectually demanding work requiring logical problem-solving is necessary.
