Job Title: Facility Security Officer

About the Role

The primary function of the Facility Security Officer is to screen all personnel and beneficiaries visiting health facilities. Carry out surveillance and guarding activities in facilities, according to security protocols, to ensure the safety and security of all personnel, assets, and premises.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the security of people and property at assigned facilities.
  • Check and control that only authorized individuals are entering facilities. Inform and obtain authorization from the supervisor before granting access to unauthorized individuals.
  • Maintain a logbook and report any security-related events to the supervisor.
  • Maintain records of facility property moved to and from compounds to other locations and prevent property from leaving the compound without authorization.
  • Remain vigilant and within the assigned area.
  • Regularly patrol the assigned compound in accordance with the established work schedule.
  • Ensure all security lights are on by sunset and off at sunrise.
  • Inform the supervisor immediately if items are missing or unauthorized entrance occurs.
  • Ensure all doors of buildings are closed and/or locked after staff leave.
  • Implement security protocols at all times while on duty.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Typically, 1 year of relevant experience in providing security services.
  • Sound physical health and stamina to perform duties assigned.
  • Good hygiene practices.
  • Previous experience with similar organizations is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Ability to meet schedules and deadlines of the work area.
  • Fluency in written and spoken language.
