We're seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to develop and maintain scalable backend services in Ruby on Rails. As part of our engineering team, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects that drive our product roadmap.

About the Role:

You'll work on designing, building, and maintaining reliable and efficient backend systems using AWS and container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Your focus will be on scalability, security, and performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement reliable and scalable backend services in Ruby on Rails
  • Develop, deploy, and manage applications on AWS, optimizing for cost, performance, and scalability
  • Work with container technologies to ensure applications are portable, secure, and resilient
  • Collaborate with front-end and product teams to design APIs and ensure a smooth user experience
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues and improve the performance of existing services
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in backend development with a focus on Ruby on Rails
  • Knowledge of AWS services and best practices for cloud-based application development
  • Experience working with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with RESTful API design and development, and working knowledge of GraphQL is a plus
  • Proficiency in database design and management, and caching mechanisms
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles, object-oriented programming, and design patterns
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues in a distributed system
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
