Software Engineering & System Integration Specialist

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical discipline.
    • At least 7 years of professional experience in managing enterprise level MySQL databases.
    • Hands-on experience with API integrations.
    • A strong focus on DevOps and experience building, deploying, and supporting infrastructure with cloud technologies.
    • Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks.
    • Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Experience with Git and subversion for source control management.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements to existing systems and platforms.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, QA teams, and other software engineers to solve engineering problems.
    • Work alongside other engineers to improve technology and consistently practice industry-leading engineering standards.
    • Implement new features and changes requested by the product team.
    • Design and implement analytical dashboards for telecom billing data.
    • Architect and implement sophisticated business web applications using PHP/MySQL.
    • Support, refactor, and enhance an existing production system.
    • Document all work in a project management system and track time spent on each task.
    • Solve technical problems using full-stack web application skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Strong object-oriented design and coding skills using PHP on a UNIX or Linux platform.
    • Experience with distributed systems, algorithms, and relational databases.
    • The ability to articulate and document technical challenges and solutions effectively.
    • Ability to think abstractly and deal well with ambiguous problems.
    • Excellent knowledge of the Linux operating system.
    • Experience working with relational database systems like MySQL.
  • Major Plus:
    • Experience with ExtJS framework.
    • Experience with Silverstripe CMS.
    • Experience with developing ServiceNow Applications.
    • Prior experience working on analytical dashboards.
    • Prior experience working with REST APIs for MDM platforms, Air Watch, Intune, Snap engage, Matomo, File-maker, Sierra Airlink Management Systems.
