Backend Development Lead

Our organization is looking for a skilled Backend Development Lead with extensive expertise in designing and implementing robust, scalable, and high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate will oversee the design and implementation of backend services, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop modular, efficient backend systems that meet optimal performance and maintainability requirements.
  • Develop and implement APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure to ensure seamless communication between frontend and backend services.
  • Implement data processing, validation, and business logic layers to enhance system efficiency and security.
  • Design and manage relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non-relational (e.g., MongoDB) databases to optimize query performance and data modeling.
  • Implement security best practices, including data encryption, secure API communication, and role-based access control.
  • Set up and monitor performance metrics for backend services to ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in backend development
  • Proficiency in Node.js and its frameworks
  • Strong understanding of API design principles, including RESTful and WebSocket APIs
  • Proficiency in relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non-relational databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB)
  • Expertise in database optimization, indexing, and schema design
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure
  • Expertise in managing cloud services like EC2, RDS, S3, and Lambda
  • Strong knowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWTs, and encryption protocols (e.g., TLS, AES)
  • Experience with real-time data handling protocols like WebSocket or MQTT
  • Proficiency with unit testing, integration testing, and debugging tools
  • Strong knowledge of Git and workflows like GitFlow or trunk-based development
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, AWS Pipeline, or GitLab CI
